Top Five Content Management Challenges You Need to Solve Now
This is a guest post from Cloudinary, a cloud-based image and video
management solution. We are always looking for ways to help companies deliver
digital experiences that will meet customers expectations in terms of content
and performance. Tackling these 5 challenges is a good step towards
delivering a top-notch digital experience.
We are in the midst of a great evolution when it comes to website design.
Formerly text-heavy sites now rely on eye-catching images and video to draw
in visitors, improve engagement rates and drive readership. These results are
proven. Articles with relevant images get 94 percent more total views,
according to digital marketing expert Jeff Bullas. And images are vital to
websites influencing page views and user engagement for news articles, press
material, local search, eCommer... (more)
Today marks the 30th day of Ulitzer's public beta. We had an amazing month
and perhaps one of the most widely discussed launches of a "new
media" site. Gartner recently asked, "Will Ulitzer dominate news content on
the Web eventually?" The answer is yes, and I'll explain why.
First, I'd like to share some of the 30-day stats with you. We had more than
140,000 visitors who read 197,000 pages of articles, blogs and news stories.
The syndicated page views (outside the Ulitzer domain) exceeded 1,369,983
page views. The legendary technology reporter Maureen O'Gara was the most
read Ulitzer author with 231,600 rolling page views, and we syndicated more
than 3,000 Ulitzer stories.

A data breach could happen to anyone. Data managed by your company is
valuable to someone, no matter what the data is. Everything has a price tag
on the dark web. It is especially true when it is customer data, such as
personal and payment card details.
When your customers' data turns up somewhere unexpected on the Internet, you
may feel the world is collapsing around you. People start tweeting about the
hack, angry customers phone in, and Brian Krebs publishes his first article.
Your organization switches to an emergency mode to handle the situation. It
is the time when your incident response team takes control to put the genie

This is part 4 in a 5-part series on performance in the upcoming Drupal 8.
Check out part 3, on performance in Twig templating, here.
Views is one of the most installed Drupal modules with over two thirds of
Drupal sites reporting that they have it installed. Soon, though, that number
will go up: as of Drupal 8, Views is a core module! This effort started as
a community effort and was announced as an official Drupal 8 initiative in
a post by Dries explaining why this change is so exciting.
One of the reasons that Views is so popular is that it provides an
‘all-in-one' answer without writing a single line of code. But there's a
reason that many programmers hate WYSIWYG editors: you see the result, but
not the steps taken to produce it, and what you don't know might come back to

Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.

IoT is at the core or many Digital Transformation initiatives with the goal of re-inventing a company's business model. But as Enterprise DevOps gains maturity, expands scope, and increases velocity, the need for data-driven decisions across teams becomes more acute. DevOps teams in any modern business must wrangle the ‘digital exhaust’ from the delivery toolchain, "pervasive" and "cognitive" computing, APIs and services, mobile devices and applications, the Internet of Things, and now even blockchain.
