FatWire Software today announced that FatWire Content Server, the leading web content management (WCM) solution, was selected by the regional government of Alava, Spain to manage its content online and deliver a web experience that will engage and inform its constituents.
Based in Spain's Basque territory, the Alava regional government has an important and broad mission encompassing taxation, development and social policy. Creating a compelling and unified web presence with content in multiple languages (Basque and Spanish) was key to achieving its goals - particularly since new national regulations were recently passed mandating greater use of the web for governmental transactions. The Alava government also needed to drive efficiency and responsiveness by empowering its staff to easily manage online content and communications.
In partnership with system integrator Indra, the Alava government chose FatWire Content Server as the platform for the new Alava.net website. FatWire was selected due to its ease of use, multilingual content management and delivery capabilities, and support for an integrated and unified brand identity online across multiple sites. FatWire Content Server automates the entire WCM process, including content authoring, site design, content publishing and delivery, targeted marketing, site analytics, and user participation.
Using FatWire Content Server, the Alava Computing Center united several independent web portals into one platform to deliver highly relevant, multi-lingual content based on individual visitor needs. Now, due to significantly reduced complexity in authoring, publishing and manageability of online content, Alava launches new web content and features more quickly for a greatly improved web experience. Alava.net has been widely recognized for its excellence, winning the "Best Institutional Web of the Year" prize from El Correo Digital, a top regional daily.
"Local governments face a critical need to deliver the most current information to their citizens and other audiences," said Rocio Motilla, FatWire's vice president and regional director for the southern Europe and Latin American territories. "FatWire Content Server enables Alava to achieve their goals with a solution that is easy to use and scales for multi-lingual deployments to enhance the web experience for all site visitors."
