ManTech Subsidiary Achieves CMMI Level 3 Rating for Development

ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) announced today that ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary aligned under the Systems Engineering and Advance Technology Group, has been successfully appraised at the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 for Development. The evaluation by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a renewal of the rating that ManTech received three years ago, demonstrates that the ManTech unit has successfully adopted and maintained the CMMI process improvement methods which help improve the on-time delivery and quality of systems engineering and software products.

“Systems engineering and software development are key capabilities that we apply in support of our customers every day, across our enterprise,” said Lawrence B. Prior, III, President and Chief Operating Officer, ManTech International Corporation. “Adopting and deploying CMMI processes has helped us to enhance quality and customer satisfaction and is an important discriminator for us in many of our contract bids.”

“We have been focused on process improvement and CMMI methods since 1999 and it has provided a significant return on investment for ManTech, particularly in projects supporting the Navy and other DOD organizations,” said Terry Ryan, President ManTech Systems Engineering and Advance Technology Group. “We attribute some $440 million worth of contract wins to our adherence to the CMMI principles and the improved quality of our systems engineering and software products that it has helped us to produce. It takes a significant amount of focus to maintain this high level and my congratulations go out to our team, for their efforts.”

ManTech has a long history of successful SEI, CMMI appraisals. In 2003, the unit received SEI Capability Maturity Model Level 3 for Software and in 2006, SEI CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Software and Systems Engineering.

The CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating confirms an organization’s ability to use feedback to improve and share ideas, provide disciplined and documented approaches, and provide a standardized enterprise solution to quality, risk management, process improvement and measurement. At ManTech this has enhanced the professional environment for managers and their staff, reduced the time required for new hires to begin contributing to the program and helped to catch defects early in the software development and systems engineering project life cycles.
