SL Japan Corporation (SL, hereafter), subsidiary of SL Corporation®, a leading provider of real-time monitoring and visualization software, announced today a technology partnership with Hitachi, Ltd. (Hitachi, hereafter), a leading provider of SOA platforms, to provide real-time monitoring, visualization and in-memory analytics of high-volume event stream data.
Hitachi has developed a custom data adapter to connect its uCosminexus Stream Data Platform product − part of the Cosminexus SOA Platform product line-up − directly to SL’s RTView® Builder and Dashboard, enabling Stream Data Platform users to gain real-time visibility into event stream data collected and analyzed in high performance by Stream Data Platform in memory. The combined solution offers users in industries such as financial services, manufacturing, distribution, and transportation a way to monitor, aggregate, analyze and present information through custom dashboards. Such visibility enables them to quickly identify problems, make better informed business decisions, and take immediate action before a problem becomes critical.
Complex Event Processing (CEP) requires robust visualization capable of handling large volumes of streamed in-memory data. SL’s RTView is a market-leading high performance Business Activity Monitoring dashboard for major CEP middleware products in the U.S., and is the proven best match in visualization technology. RTView can be made to connect directly to a CEP engine, aggregate the data in-memory, and present that information through custom dashboards in real-time. Given that Hitachi’s uCosminexus Stream Data Platform is the first Japanese-built CEP engine, it has been gaining much attention and with the announced unique technology partnership, SL expects to expand RTView’s business further in the Japanese CEP market.
With RTView’s point-and-click Builder, users can configure and customize content-rich and thin-client dashboard displays, alerts, filtering and aggregation, and persistence of streaming data − without programming. With the Custom Data Adapter Hitachi has developed, RTView users can now connect configured dashboard components to the Stream Data Platform by simply selecting the Stream Data Platform data source from the Builder’s “Add Data” menu, and then immediately preview the streaming data in various custom graphic objects. Additionally, using the RTView Historian, event stream data can be persisted and compressed to store in a database such as Hitachi’s HiRDB. This enables users to compare the continuously generated event stream data against the historical data in their custom RTView displays. The solution can be deployed as a compact Java applet, JSR-168 compliant portlet, Web 2.0 thin-client (AJAX, Flex), or Java application.
Hitachi will be exhibiting the uCosminexus Stream Data Platform leveraging SL’s RTView for visualizing the “IT System Failure Trend Detection by Analyzing Large Data in Real-Time” at Hitachi’s Cosminexus Day – Let’s Now Show Japanese Field Power – on February 25 at Tokyo Mid Town Hall. http://www.hitachi.co.jp/soft/omw/cosmi
