Share Magnet (www.sharemagnet.com), the developer and online host of the first flexible, consumer motivating, social media “advertising via word of mouth” tool, announced this week that its system has successfully completed beta testing and has been officially launched for public use.
Designed for ease of use, the Share Magnet system enables individual “sharers” who register on the site to get paid for personally recommending relevant items to their friends, family and social connections. The revenue source comes from companies of all sizes that wish to reward individuals who recommend their products, services, online links, and entertainment such as games, music, films, etc.
“We’re really excited to get Share Magnet out and into the hands of people and businesses,” said Tom Larkin, Share Magnet’s CEO and Co-Founder. “We worked hard to develop a model that is a genuine win-win. The companies get the word out on their products and services in the most credible possible way – word of mouth, the ‘sharers’ send relevant and interesting recommendations they are genuinely interested in – and get paid to do it; and the recipients of the share magnets get a hold of information about products and services directly from friends and contacts they trust. We had an overwhelmingly positive response in our testing and ramping up of the technology and we’re eager to see what can happen now that we’re making Share Magnet available to everyone.”
Businesses of any size can easily get involved by creating a “magnet,” a small clickable advertisement promoting an event, product or service. Individuals who have registered at www.ShareMagnet.com as “sharers” are then able to share magnets targeted at their demographic with likeminded friends and contacts.
Sharers can share any magnets they like with friends via Twitter, Facebook, blogs, email, text and many other online formats. The businesses compensate sharers for generating traffic to their magnets.
“The unprecedented credibility of word of mouth recommendations is what makes our Share Magnet system so unique,” added Larkin. “It’s different than traditional Pay-Per-Click in that it is demographically targeted, can be easily policed for fraud, and achieves the third-party-endorsement qualities of a social media based personal recommendation.”
The mission of Manhattan Beach, California-headquartered Share Magnet is to bring consumers together through common interests, and reward them for sharing the things they are interested in. By harnessing the power of “word of mouth,” Share Market provides technology that encourages people to share the things they enjoy with their friends and family, while benefiting consumers, businesses and social networks.
