CTIA Wireless 2012 will see the public debut of CAFE, giving providers the power to launch exciting applications via their network or the Cloud
ATLANTA, GA, USA - April 17, 2012 - Movius Interactive Corporation, a leader in communication applications, will next month at CTIA Wireless in New Orleans unveil a new Communication Applications Framework Engine, CAFÉ, that enables service providers to offer a constant flow of new, relevant applications to their end-users in an affordable, rapid and cloud ready environment.
CAFÉ, which also acts as a social media interface, represents a major breakthrough for operators looking to harness the power of the converging world of telecommunications and the internet by generating revenues from new applications that can be delivered quickly, to world class standards of performance and reliability and that are also scalable. They can utilise either the service provider's own network, or the Cloud.
"As an established leader in telecommunications solutions, Movius understands not only the latest application trends, but also the market dynamics that constantly redirect the design of the underlying VAS platforms," said Dominic Gomez, Movius President & CEO.
"What we are showing at CTIA - for the first time publicly anywhere in the United States - is a real game changer for service providers everywhere. CAFÉ is the application they have been looking for - it will put them back in the driver's seat with their application-hungry customers and give them the chance to truly significantly boost their revenue and increase customer satisfaction.
"We have used all of our experience- stretching many years from the Americas, to Europe, Africa and Asia - to design and develop CAFÉ and I am very excited at the outcome. We aim to put a lot of smiles on the faces of our service provider visitors down in New Orleans."
CAFÉ's software-based architecture is designed to effectively handle real-time communications while reducing the cost and time needed to create, deploy and monetize new applications. Designed for adaptability, the Applications Development Kit (ADK) on CAFÉ supports emerging and existing specifications and interfaces as well as easy integration to a service provider's infrastructure.
"With the growing demand for personalization and in an era where messaging is more relevant than ever, the CAFÉ multimodal multimedia messaging architecture enables service providers to give the end user greater command and control," said Amit Modi, SVP & GM Products, Services and Technology at Movius.
CAFÉ's high port density, scalable and multi-tenanted architecture allows not only for significant OPEX savings but also helps reduce carbon footprint and provide a greener deployment. The combination of cloud technology and virtualization available through CAFÉ drastically changes the application lifecycle by allowing service providers to quickly create and teardown applications depending on market fit.
The greatest value a service provider gains from CAFÉ is the applications it is capable of providing. While Movius' applications for Converged Messaging, Conferencing and Virtual Communications will all be delivered on CAFÉ, Movius believes that a modern application platform must be open to third-party application development as well. This helps ensure that a service provider can deploy all the applications their customers' demand regardless of who develops them. With CAFÉ, telecommunications service providers can now compete with web service providers and offer new relevant applications to their end-users.
"CAFÉ will enable Movius to not only continue to offer the suite of applications that service providers worldwide have depended on us for but will also provide the foundation for future applications," said Gomez.
"CAFÉ will help service providers in their pursuit to offer network application stores providing latest solutions for multimodal messaging, social interaction and multimedia communications. These applications can either be provided by Movius, by one of our partners or by the service providers themselves," said Modi.
Modi continued: "Imagine having a single window with your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and email information! Or how about two phone personas on a single mobile phone, one for personal calls and one for business calls. With CAFÉ, your imagination becomes the only limiting factor."
CAFÉ is currently in trial at select customers and is scheduled for general availability in the third quarter of 2012. To learn more visit ../../cafe.aspx.
